Cabarrus Quilters Guild meets the 2nd Friday of each month at Fire Station #9, 1026 Ivy Cline Rd, Concord, NC from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Ages 16 & up are welcome to join us. Working knowledge of your sewing machine with basic sewing skills required. A group of CQG members make teddy bears, quilts & pillowcases for donation to the community. Cabarrus Quilters Guild 2026 Outreach Partners
As part of the membership requirements, each member needs to complete one comfort quilt for the benefit of those in need in our community. CQG provides numerous options to meet your creative interests and size requirements. Members may provide more than one quilt throughout the year. When bringing a quilt to the Outreach Committee at the monthly meeting, plastic bags will be available and please put your name and organization you are designating on an index card in the bag with the quilt(s).
- Hospice of Cabarrus County (helping cancer patients through life’s last stages) wants quilts 45″X60″ or 56″X60″
- Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network – CVAN (battered women shelter) wants quilts that are bed sized.
- Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital / Atrium NICU wants quilts 34” x 45” up to single bed size. Quilts are for newborns to teenagers.
- Levine Cancer Institute – Concord or University City wants quilts lap sized (45”x60” or larger).
- Church of God Children’s Home (Kannapolis) wants quilts large lap sized
- Victory Junction (camp for medically challenged children) – wants lap sized quilts (36”x44” or larger). Quilts are for children 6 to 17.
- Quilts of Valor – quilts to be presented to veterans. Quilts should be sized between 55”x65” to 70”x92”
- Other – a member may choose to donate a finished quilt to another non-profit organization but must provide a receipt as proof of donation to the Outreach Committee.

Since 2013, more than 1,000 bears have been made and donated to Victory Junction by members of the Cabarrus Quilters Guild.

In addition, we have a group of quilters who meet on a monthly basis to make Quilts of Valor (QOV). This group, referred to as the
Creative Piecers, also hosts QOV presentations throughout the year.
