Nancy Sapin Sulky Rep: Template free motion quilting
Tuesday, May 12th
Sulky free motion template class: learn the basics of free-motion quilting: proper feet to use, how to create the stitch length and control the stitches. Learn techniques and control necessary to thread sketch any straight-line design from a child’s drawing to art work. Learn how to transfer a design into fabric using stabilizers. The design is printed on a wash away paper and placed on top of the cloth. Students follow the out line of the design to create the free motion on the fabric. Entire kits (like in picture) are available for $25 (preorder)or just the template paper for $5. Please see the supply list for more information.

Learn the basics of good composition and color theory to design and create a one-of-a kind art quilt from a photograph using raw edge applique and free motion quilting. Beginning – Intermediate level
A lecture that includes some short demos and a trunk show. All supplies and materials for the workshop are provided in order to give participants an opportunity to explore and experience all of the techniques and methods. Workshop also includes a digital tutorial/workbook for participants.

Lisa Alley – Calming the Chaos: How I reclaimed my quilt studio – I am a borderline hoarder especially when it comes to fabric and quilting paraphernalia (okay…with pretty much everything). In this program, I’ll show you how, with the intervention of friend, we reclaimed my quilt studio. The before photos are kind of scary if you are a neat freak so be warned!
